Creative Journey, June 2011!

Hello everyone! Our Creative Journey day-long "mini-retreat" is coming up in just TWO weeks! But, there is still time to register and join us for a fun-filled day of creative goodness!

We will be creating 4 amazing projects on Saturday, June 18th, beginning at 9am! Cost for the day is just $85, and that includes all of the supplies to create the 4 projects, a free gift just for attending, drawings throughout the day for some fun prizes, and snacks and beverages all day long! It's a GREAT "girl's day out", and a wonderful way to "feed" your creative soul! You deserve a break!

Below are photos of 2 of the projects:

First is this awesome "Library Drawing" album...in a "file" format! This is an adorable way to display photos from a special event! Or use it as a "year in review" album, and display photos by the month! Or, just display your wonderful "everyday life" photos to capture those precious moments! Your family and friends will LOVE flipping through and remembering all of those special times! Change out your photos periodically for a fresh new look! And, this project would make a really great gift! We'll use Close To My Heart's "Lucky" paper line for a fun, vintage vibe on this project! It is filled fun little elements...envelopes for hidden journaling, file folders, tags and more!











The next project is this gorgeous 9x9 Memory Showcase...another unique and fun way to display your precious memories! We'll create this "stand-up" album using a beautiful "neutral" color palette, and featuring Close To My Heart's new "Kraft" papers! Display vintage photos, wedding or baby photos, special event photos or again, just great photos from everyday life!









Photos of the other two projects coming soon...but here's a written description...


Project #3 is a darling, wire-bound mini-album, but it will be used to store lists of all of your birthdays and anniversary dates, to help you remember! It's 4x7 in size, with pockets inside to hold a customized "list" for each month of the year! Another great gift! (Christmas will be here before you know it....)


Project #4 is an album made from Close To My Heart's fantast "Flip-Flaps" page protectors, and we'll be creating a Summer-themed album, in a unique 6x12 size! And we'll use Close To My Heart's adorable "Fan Fare" line of bright, cheery papers and embellishments!

Registration closes on Wed., June 8th, so contact me right away! Payment must be made at the time of registration to reserve your seat!And, seating is limited!


Please bring your own "basic tool kit" to class....scissors, paper trimmer, various adhesives (tape runner, Glue Dots, Liquid Glass, Foam tape, etc.), distressing tools: sponge, sponge daubers, sand paper, etc.

Hello everyone! I'm here to share with you some photos from our Spring Creative Journey "mini-retreat", and to announce the upcoming Creative Journey event! (so excited!)


Our Spring event was held on Saturday, March 5th. When guests arrived, they were greeted with this little scene on the front porch, welcoming them to the festivities of the day! The theme of this Creative Journey was "Springtime in Paris"...hence, the vintage suitcases, etc.









Here is the workshop room, all set up and and waiting for the 17 guests to arrive!


All of the project kits ready to go, as well....









The guests arrived at 9am and had some yummy breakfast treats....







And then, we got to work.....

We created 5 awesome projects in one day, (yes, we really did!) had snacks and beverages all day, and then ate a great dinner, as well! Lots of fun prizes were given away (congrats to Teresa, who won the "grand prize"...a beautiful Close To My Heart tote bag!) and everyone reported that they had a GREAT time!







A HUGE thank you to all of those who came and made the day so fun and memorable!




And now...I'm thrilled to announce that my next Creative Journey will take us to "A Day at the County Fair"...on SATURDAY, JUNE 18TH! Join me for for a full day of creative goodness, friends, food (who doesn't like "fair food"?!) prizes and gifts... and... FUN! Mark your calendar and plan to attend! Registration will be begin in about a week! Seating is limited...so when registation opens, be sure and sign up right away!

Another fun project!

Hi there....I'm excited to show you the 4th project we will be creating at Creative Journey! Ta-Da....!
It's a darling spring decoration, created from an
8 1/2 x 11 wood frame!{inspired by fellow CTMH consultant Jayma Malme!) I used the GORGEOUS new
"Sophia" line of papers {Close To My Heart, of course!}....so pretty! Hang the frame on a wall with a ribbon, {which will be included} add it to your spring decor on your mantel, prop it up on a cute shelf, or display it on an easel. This fast and easy project is sure to brighten your home for spring! {this also makes a fun gift!}
So....if you haven't signed up for the Creative Journey day-long "mini-retreat" yet...what are you waiting for?! It's only $85 for the entire day... you will create 5 awesome paper crafting projects, {see previous posts below}, have a light breakfast and a yummy dinner, snacks and beverages will be provided all day...it will be a FUN, creative experience! The third "big" Project!

Hi everyone!
Here it is....another "sneak-peek" at one of the projects for our upcoming day-long "mini-retreat"...Creative Journey....on Saturday, March 5th, 2011, starting at 9am!
I'm am VERY excited about this project...it's a recipe book to hold recipes, and the cover is, as you can see in the photo, a 6x9 clipboard! There will be 8 pages inside, each with pockets to hold your favorite family recipes, and then when you are cooking, just stand the whole book up on the kitchen counter, clip your recipe to the front cover, and cook away! Tooo fun!!
We will be using a brand new paper line from Close To My Heart...it's called "Mayberry", and yes, it is A.DOR.A.BLE.!! The color combination of Cocoa, Honey, Olive and Smoothie is just stunning and the papers have a really fun "vintage vibe" to them! I'm in LOVE with these papers!
The photo doesn't do the papers justice...you just have to see them in person!

Creative Journey, 2011!

Hello and welcome to the new "Creative Journey" blog! We offer affordable, day-long, paper crafting "mini-retreats"...a creative experience like no other! We are so excited to be offering these FUN "mini-retreats", and look forward to having you go on this Journey with us!
We saw a need for an event like this...all of the local scrapbook stores have closed. There is no retail place, locally, to take scrapbooking and paper crafting classes. But we are here with Creative Journey, to change all of that! We plan to offer several Creative Journey days thoughout the coming year, and we also plan to offer some fun crops as well! Watch for more info on that, coming soon!

On this Creative Journey, you will create 5-6 AWESOME projects, all with Close To My Heart's fantastic papers, accessories and embellishments, many from the AMAZING, brand new, Spring/Summer Idea Book!
If you finish your projects early, you are welcome to bring supplies to work on scrapbook pages, cards or other paper crafting projects...take some time to finish those projects that you've been meaning to work on or complete!
All for one low, affordable price!
And, here is a "sneak peek" of two of the projects....
The first is a decorated "printer's tray" (below)... a wooden tray, reminicsent of old-fashioned trays that printers used to line up letters to print words for newspapers and books! We've taken this "tray" and created a beautiful family keepsake, using the gorgeous new "Wings" paper line from Close To My Heart! Each little section of the tray is decorated with papers, photos and embellishments, for a one-of-a-kind display that you and your family will cherish! This would make a very special gift, as well! Hang it on a wall, display it on a wrought iron easel, or hang it from a wreath stand!
The second "sneak peek" is a beautiful mini-album, created with the brand new "Bliss" line of papers and embellishments from Close To My Heart, (see the adorable mesh flower and metal butterfly?? So cute!) and using our great "All Sorts" chipboard album! You will create the cover and 10 pages in your album, and that album can display favorite family photos, wedding photos, heritage photos, photos about relationships....the possiblities are endless!
